EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique

Tapping for better health and wellness and anxietyI’ve found EFT,  or Emotional Freedom Technique, to be very beneficial to clients who are experiencing an acute emotional attack.  EFT utilizes the same energy meridians used in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and gently releases emotional charges that have built up along pressure points.  Many would classify EFT as a form of psychological acupressure.

When clients have undergone a recent trauma, there is often an overload of emotions that are not being released. They can become trapped along the meridians, creating a short circuit or a back flow.  EFT uses light tapping in key places to release these blockages and promote the vital life force to flow, bringing balance and ease back to the system.

This technique is simple and profound.  Clients can easily learn the basic tapping routine and incorporate it into their day.  By combing positive affirmations and tapping the points, clients can alleviate physical and emotional pain, reduce food cravings, remove negative emotions, and implement positive goals.

HISTORY Of EFT

Dr. Roger Callahan’s Thought Field Therapy or TFT began in the 1980’s, after this successful psychologist became unsatisfied with the results that traditional psychotherapy yielded.   Gary Craig studied under Dr. Callahan in the 90’s and developed EFT.  The two techniques are similar and are both profoundly beneficial.
